Christian Home Education Conference 2010 - Kelowna

 April 30th and May 1st.

The keynote speakers will be Jim Weiss, David Hazell, and Davis and Rachael Carman.    Last year’s convention was a great success, and the Kelowna conference looks forward to having an even larger turnout for 2010.

Family_Surveys

The CHEK office will be sending out the annual family survey in February. We value your input regarding the CHEK program and would appreciate the completed surveys being returned to the office by the end of February. A reward will be given to the region with the highest return rate !!!

FSA_testing - January 18 to February 26

Grade 4 and 7 students are writing FSA tests sometime during the last part of January and/or during the month of February. Teachers will communicate with families as to where and when writing will take place.

CHEK Across BC Students Do Well In Writing Contest

10/30/2009— Our 2008-09 school year got off to a great start with several CHEK students entering the Polar Expressions writing contest. Students had the option of entering an original poem or short story. We are very proud to announce that 5 of our students had their writing published in 3 of the books produced this year.

Schooling-at-home students Achieve at Very High Levels

06/06/2008— Three students enrolled in CHEK have received notable honours during the 2007/08 school year.

A grade 9 student in CHEK has received top honours in Science this year. She competed in the local CHEK Science Fair and won first place. She continued on to the Regional Public School Science Fair and again won first place honours. She then proceeded to Ottawa, Ontario to compete at the national level where the very best and brightest in Canada came to showcase their work in Science. CHEK receives Certificate of Excellence

03/04/2008— The CHEK office recently received a certificate of excellence in achievement from the Ministry of Education for a recent CHEK graduate student. This 2007 graduate is a grade 12 Provincial Scholarship Exam winner. Our congratulations go out to him as he is currently studying Science at UBC.
