CHEK Across BC is looking for BC certified teachers who are interested in supporting families choosing to school at home.
Teachers need to be committed to the philosophy of home-schooling and must be able to work harmoniously with a home-schooling group of parents. Teachers also need to be proficient in the use of the computer. It is necessary to hold or be eligible to receive a teaching certificate either from the BC College of Teachers or from the Independent School Branch of the Ministry of Education. Teachers must possess or be eligible for a personal credit card.
Your resume must be sent to CHEK via email or fax to (250) 352-0546 and should include the following:
 Your educational history- Your experience in fields outside education
- Your work and teaching experience - with references
- Your home-schooling experience - (if any)
- Your specific areas of expertise
- Your family information
- Your Church information - with a reference preferably from your Pastor
- A detailed statement of your philosophy of Christian Education
- A detailed statement of your philosophy of Home-schooling or Distance Education
If in possession of a BC teaching certificate, please include a copy with your resume.
It is not necessary for you to live in the Nelson, BC area since the emphasis of the program is on a local teacher serving local families in a local community.
If you do not possess a first aid certificate, you must be willing to take the training to obtain one.
