A Christian Program
  • CHEK is a Christian ministry founded to assist Christian families, and others who share the same values, and choose schooling at home as an educational alternative.
  • CHEK has Christian teachers who meet locally with families on an agreed upon schedule.
  • CHEK emphasizes the integration of faith and learning and pursues the distinctive CHEK outcomes as listed in the Handbook. Teachers pray for and with parents and students.
  • CHEK encourages the use of Christian curriculum and resources to meet Provincial learning outcomes.
  • CHEK includes BIBLE as a subject in whatever curriculum is used both at the elementary and secondary levels. Bible will be included on each report card.
  • CHEK seeks to meet the needs of all students, both those who are intellectually and/or physically challenged as well as those who are gifted. CHEK has a trained professional on staff to help meet these needs.

Curriculum with a Christian World View for Grades 10-12
  • CHEK Across BC offers a full grade 10, 11 and 12 high school program leading to the Dogwood High School Graduation Diploma. The English Courses have been designed by high school specialist teachers on the CHEK staff. They reflect high standards in the choice of literature, which are consistent with a Christian school, and are designed to reflect the Christian world view. The Social Studies courses have an additional component, designed in CHEK, which serves as a context in which the subject can be understood within a Christian world view as well.
  • CHEK's grad program is supplemented by a comprehensive online environment, used as a communication hub between students and teachers. In addition to the paper based curriculum provided, families will also have the option to share resources and communication with each other and the teacher in this environment. CHEK's Online Program is new this year, and is constantly being improved and developed.
